Corporate
The corporate, tax, international law, and intellectual
property practices concentrate on planning, negotiating
and drafting transactions, and structuring new business ventures, in the
U.S. and abroad. As business counselor, the firm works closely
with each client to plan long term legal strategies, optimize business
objectives and minimize litigation.
Lawyers have diverse backgrounds and years of concentrated
experience in each area of law in which the firm practices. Most
have an advanced degree or training in related disciplines such as
accounting and engineering; and have authored books or articles in their
areas of specialization.
Litigation, Regulatory and Legislation
Led
by Dan Hull, the firm's litigation, environmental, employment law, white
collar defense and
legislative practices are conducted before a variety of federal and state
courts and agencies. These include the federal Environmental
Protection Agency, Department of Energy, Department of the Interior, Equal Employment
Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, and Internal
Revenue Service, and their state counterparts.
The firm's litigation practice is limited primarily to
federal courts. The litigation and regulatory strategy for each client
is unique but anticipates and prevents private or public sector disputes
before they arise; however, Hull McGuire attorneys frequently try cases
before courts or administrative agencies. Every effort is made
to control litigation costs and, where appropriate, to streamline
processes and expedite outcomes through arbitration, mediation and other
ADR options. Billing is hourly but closely monitored by our partners
to ensure value.
