CORPORATE CRIMINAL DEFENSE LAWYER TIM SCOTT JOINS
HULL McGUIRE IN SAN DIEGO AS OF COUNSEL

SAN DIEGO-PITTSBURGH-WASHINGTON, D.C. - November 12, 2007 - Timothy A. Scott, a white collar defense lawyer and former federal public defender, has joined Hull McGuire PC in San Diego as of counsel, effective November 1, 2007.

A graduate of Whitworth College (B.A. 1997, summa cum laude), Mr. Scott received his law degree from Stanford Law School in 2000.

Mr. Scott has served as lead counsel in several high profile federal criminal cases, including the largest fraud case in San Diego history, an eleven-defendant case under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and a nineteen-defendant, multi-district conspiracy case. He is also experienced in advising and defending clients in cases charged under criminal statutes spawned by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 and in defending civil fraud cases brought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Former Federal Public Defender

Mr. Scott was a trial attorney between 2001 and 2004 with Federal Defenders of San Diego, Inc. He has argued over twenty appeals to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Prior to serving as a public defender, Mr. Scott was an associate with Gordon Thomas Honeywell, LLP in Tacoma, Washington in complex litigation. Since 2004, Mr. Scott has built a successful defense-oriented practice of his own.

"This is a natural fit," said Dan Hull, a Hull McGuire shareholder in San Diego. "Tim Scott is a proven first-rate trial lawyer in both criminal and federal civil litigation with a real knack for client service," Hull continued. "Tim will be an indispensable advisor to our corporate clients in and out of California."

"Hull McGuire's white collar defense practice began in 1993 with representation of Congressional figures investigated or charged by the U.S. Department of Justice's Public Integrity Section and later merged into our representation of corporate clients worldwide," said Hull. "Tim will add to that part of us immensely."

Mr. Scott is also a frequent lecturer at Federal Defenders of San Diego C.L.E. seminars, and at the annual U.S. District Court Judicial Conference in San Diego. He is also an adjunct professor of Advanced Trial Advocacy and Federal Criminal Procedure at California Western School of Law.

Mr. Scott lives in Chula Vista, California.
